JASON BIONDI

Principal – Founder & CEO.

Jason founded Energy Cost Solutions Group (ECSG) in 2007, a business which targets new construction and existing buildings through energy savings, commissioning, minimizing environmental impacts of construction, operations and maintenance and improving indoor environmental conditions. ECSG is currently involved with projects pursuing LEED New Construction, Core & Shell, Commercial Interiors and Existing Buildings Certification as well as National Association of Home Builders – Green Building Standard, Enterprise Green Communities Criteria and Green Globes certifications. ECSG also performs commercial energy audits and environmental impact analysis for Major Use Special Permits. Jason has personally worked to help certify more than 20 green buildings through out Florida and Latin America. Jason leads a team of experienced architects and engineers, who make up ECSGs’ well balanced and effective green building certification machine.

KUNTAL THAKKAR

Senior Project Manager

Kuntal Thakkar, Graduate of Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton, FL, as a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, May 2014, Kuntal has a deep interest and broad enthusiasm for sustainability and green building and thesis work in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency in existing buildings.

NABIL MAROUN

P.E. Senior Engineer & Commissioning Agent

NABIL MAROUN, PE, LEED is a Green Building Commissioning Authority at Energy Cost Solutions Group, LLC with over 12 years of experience working with the U.S. Green Building Council and commissioning buildings internationally. Nabil has extensive experience with mechanical review, pre-functional/functional testing, and project management. Specialized experience in educational buildings, public transportation (light rail) and airport commissioning.

BRIANA DEROSA

Sustainability Consultant

Briana Derosa graduated from the University of Florida with her bachelor’s degree in Sustainability and the Built Environment before completing her Master’s in Global Sustainability from the University of South Florida. Briana has been with ECSG since 2021 as a green building consultant working on projects pursuing LEED, NGBS, FGBC, Fitwel, and Green Globes certification(s).

LUCAS ERIENDSON

Project Manager

Lucas is an energy professional who is passionate about sustainable development and ensuring a harmonious, clean future for everyone. Originally from Idaho, he pursued his degree in Environmental Studies at Boise State University and graduated in 2019. He has been involved in multiple projects ranging from single family homes to multi-building campuses across multiple states in the USA. Lucas is thrilled to be a part of ECSG and to help clients build high performance structures.

FAHAD ALASFOUR

Commissioning Project Manager

With over 15 years in the construction management industry Fahad joined ECSG in January 2023 and is currently managing the commissioning process on multiple projects ECSG has under contract, ensuring the selected buildings perform in accordance with the design intent, contract documents, and owner’s operational needs.

JOE FLEMING

Project Engineer Senior Energy Modeler

Mr. Fleming holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. He is educated in commercial and residential building system design and construction. His professional experience spans HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building automation systems in both commercial and residential settings. He has extensive experience in installing, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems. He is skilled in building energy modeling for LEED projects, ASHRAE compliance, 179D compliance, and energy code compliance, having completed over 100 energy models and audits for various systems.

With over 18 years in building commissioning and retro-commissioning and over 12 years in forensic engineering, Mr. Fleming specializes in troubleshooting and engineering solutions for failed or inefficient HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Adolfo Alvarez, a graduate of Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, embodies a commitment to professional excellence. Joining ECSG in 2023, Adolfo brings not only a solid foundation in business administration but also a set of core values that define his approach to work.

EDEL TRAVIESO

Commissioning Project Manager

Edel Travieso is a commissioning and sustainability professional with over 20 years of experience in construction management, renewable energy systems, and green building consulting. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served six years in logistics, mobility air freight, traffic management, and emergency medical response, including deployment during the Bosnia and Kosovo operations.

Throughout his career, he has managed a wide range of construction and sustainability projects including roofing and solar installations, government construction projects, renewable energy systems, and LEED consulting services. His experience includes work on large commercial and municipal projects such as the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Lauderhill Mass Transit Center.

He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Alternative and Renewable Energy Management from Everglades University. He is a BPI Building Analyst, RESNET HERS Rater, and Indoor Air Quality specialist, and is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council. He also serves on the Everglades University Advisory Board and is a founding member of the Green Veterans Group.
