Learn about LEED for Cities and Communities with online training

The LEED for Cities and Communities programs guide sustainable development on the city and community scales. These frameworks and certification programs provide local leaders; developers and practitioners with the tools they need to advance the sustainability initiatives that are most important to their region and community members, while also allowing cities and communities to earn a certification to demonstrate their excellence. LEED-certified cities and communities boast achievement in the areas of energy, water, waste, transportation, health, safety and equity, and they develop pathways for continuous improvement.
USGBC’s new virtual training course, “Become a LEED for Cities and LEED for Communities Pro,” equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to guide cities and communities through the certification process. “Module 1: Rating System” outlines the rating systems’ goals and structure, taking a deep dive into each credit category. “Module 2: Certification” guides participants through the steps to certification, including data reporting for prerequisites and credits, the review process and key case studies. Throughout the course, hear directly from USGBC and GBCI staff about the rating systems and strategies for reaching sustainability goals.
To demonstrate their learning and expertise, participants will earn a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
Visit the virtual training series page to learn more and purchase the full course.
Discounted pricing is available for USGBC members and students. Learn more about membership at USGBC and USGBC Students.
